How to Get Rich Quick from the Internet?

The title of this article may be a little tricky because I don't want to explain how to get rich quickly from the internet, but this article is to open my eyes to how the real online business is.

Most Indonesians (including myself) are starting to be interested in online business because of the many rumors that getting money from the internet is like turning their hands. This kind of assumption can be tricky. As a result, people underestimate online businesses and end up being skeptical.

Online business is the same as most offline businesses. If you want to be serious online, this business must be taken seriously, not as a side business.

As far as I can see, it seems that Indonesians cannot treat the online business as a serious business. When I visit websites about internet marketing in Indonesian, the quality of content and discussion is far below that of international sites. Most of our IM sites discuss illegal methods, shortcuts, rich riches.

I don't intend to demonize our country but given the rapid development of internet marketing in Asia & Southeast Asia, it's good for Indonesia not to be left behind.

So, can you be rich from the internet? Can. Internet marketing, if taken seriously can be a source of income that may even exceed some other types of businesses. But again, be serious.

Talking about internet marketing and online business, this topic is very broad. IM itself has sub-sections, for example, blogging, e-commerce, affiliate marketing, site flipping (buying and selling websites), mobile marketing, and many more. In essence, anything that requires internet marketing can be categorized as internet marketing.

The following are some of the most popular areas of online business and their explanations.

Blogging

Most people are familiar with blogging. The point is we make websites on certain topics which are updated regularly. Then if this blog is popular, we can place ads from ad providers such as AdSense, or we can sell ad spots.

Many people want to be successful as bloggers but are lazy to write articles instead. As a result, they take shortcuts such as copy and paste articles and auto blogs. I guarantee a shortcut like this will not last long.

Blogs can be created for free at no cost, but they can also be with a little initial capital.

For those of you who like to write and can write regularly on a topic, blogging can be an interesting business because it doesn't take much time if you don't hurry. But for those who can't write, they can recruit paid writers for each article.

Promoting blogs can be with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and SMO (Social Media Optimization). These two topics will be discussed in another article.

Due to the increasingly sophisticated Google search engine algorithm, don't expect to build a stable online business with cheap ways to popularize blogs.

Affiliate Marketing

In general, being an affiliate marketer means we promote other people's products and earn a commission. Affiliate marketing is very broad and perhaps compared to other IM fields, this is the most populous.

One of the affiliate marketing branches where we get a commission every time a promoted product is sold, namely Amazon, Clickbank, and JVZoo. These 3 affiliate networks are the most popular for CPS (Cost per Sale) in their respective fields.

Apart from commissions for sales, there is also what is called CPA (Cost per Action). We get a commission every time the person we recommend takes an 'action' such as filling out a survey, registering, submitting an email, and so on.

In promoting affiliate offers, you can use blogs (SEO), social media, email, banners, or paid traffic (PPC, PPV, Media buy, etc.).

Gaining popularity since the days of Android and iOS smartphones will be more and more popular in the future due to technological advances.

For those who are serious about exploring the world of IM, list building can be one of the mandatory things.

If you've built an email list, promoting products from the affiliate network is much easier because you no longer rely on SEO or paid traffic.

In email list building we need an autoresponder like Aweber, Getresponse, MailChimp, etc. to send email to registered people. To get an email list, it could be from another blog or website or an advertisement.

Digital Product Creating

Maybe some people feel that making products is difficult or complicated, but if we have made quality products, the income will also be of high quality.

Creating digital products is not that difficult. Many people are already successful by simply selling ebooks.

If you have a special skill such as photography, graphic design, programming, or other knowledge that other people are interested in, turn this knowledge into an ebook or video course. Then market this digital product through a website or affiliate network such as Clickbank.

There are many other types of digital products that are not difficult to make.

Ecommerce

Selling goods through online stores (FJB Kaskus, OLX, Tokopedia, eBay) can also be an interesting business. Selling goods doesn't mean you have to have a product, dropshipping can also be a popular alternative. Many sellers on eBay have had success simply by drop shipping.

Startup Building

Quoted from Quora by Dave McClure, the startup can be defined as:

That is, the startup product is still new and there has not been anything like it before. Because the type is new, the product is uncertain and can still change its shape. Examples of popular foreign startups include AirBnB and Uber.

Facebook used to be a startup too, but now that the business model is clear, it's not a startup anymore.

Digital startups are now gaining popularity in Indonesia. Many new startups have sprung up and are funded by local and even foreign investors.

Startup development always starts with an idea. So if you have an idea that can make people's lives easier, pour this idea into a startup.

Apart from the seven forms of online business above, of course, there are many others. Whatever the form, the success of an online business will not be possible if it is still underestimated.
